Vote YES on the Cabell County Board of Education Excess Levy

Since the levy failed in May, The Board of Education has selected a new superintendent and proposed a new Board of Education Excess Levy. The proposed Levy will restore FULL funding to the Parks and Libraries, including repaying equalization payments that had previously been withheld. Now it's up to us to get the Levy passed during the General Election on November 5!

Vote YES on Nov 5

The excess levy will go to the voters on NOVEMBER 5, 2024. The Board of Education levy needs 50% of the vote to pass. If the Levy passes, full funding will be restored to the Parks and Libraries!

Where are we now?

There are now two new board members in Reed Byers and Linda Childers and a new superintended Tim Hardesty. Within the first few weeks of this new guard, we have seen the old funding put back and the equalization payments received by both the parks and the libraries. Everything that has been asked for has been given. While this is great news, our jobs are far from over!

It is now time to pass a levy in the heat of the election cycle. People are tired, tensions are down, and motivation is low. Now more than ever, we have to rally each other and push forward just as much as we did back in May. The levy can fail, but it will succeed if we buckle down and push one last voting campaign here in the fall.

Only together can we achieve the results we need! Yes Parks! Yes Libraries! Yes Levy!
